Gate Valves
We offer gate valves in a variety of sizes, from the smallest to the largest. The name Gate Valve is derived from the Gate valve’s operation. The valve functions as a gate, stopping or allowing flow through it. By lifting the wedge out of the flow stream, the valve can be opened. Gate valves are intended for full closure and full opening, hence they are not appropriate for throttling. There is no obstruction in the flow route when the Gate valve is fully open, resulting in a very low pressure drop.
Features of Gate Valves
- The strength of Stem to Gate connection is stronger than the strength of the Stem at the root of the operating thread
- Outside screw and yoke construction
- Valves with backseat arrangement
- Bi-directional shut-off
- Gland is of self-aligning
- Deep stuffing box
- Low Pressure Drop & Lower Erosion
- The Body to Bonnet is male and female joint and ring joint is used in higher classes
Advantages of Gate Valves
- Gate valves contain very low friction loss
- They can be used both ways in the circuit
- They provide laminar flow; a pressure loss is minimum
- Gate valves help to save energy and reduce total cost of ownership
- There will be low-pressure drop when opened fully and tight sealing
